Day 1 ends - 35 companies covered

So, at 4:00pm all the teams re-assembelled at the decided venue and were then collected by the college bus. Day 1 brought a lot of new learnings with it. The teams were able to cover about 35 companies. Some of these companies gave the complete desired information and some of them gave an appointment for next day or a two in order to meet the head of the company. Some didn’t allowed to give the information because they never wanted there company secrets to be disclosed. In all what we learned was- how to work in a team, how to talk to a head of a company and most importantly we got an opportunity to know about an organization’s way of functioning.

First Day - a lot of confusion and a lot of problems

Well, after reaching the RIICO area we found that the area was vastly distributed. The area was divided into different sectors like Textiles, Special Economic Zone, Gems e.t.c. Not having the proper map of the locations it was very difficult to drop the teams to their destined companies. There was a lot of confusion about the routes and hence the teams had to be dropped at different company locations which was pre-decided.

First Journey to the RIICO industrial area

During our journey to the Industrial area there were a lot of queries about what questions to be asked to the Company people and what to do when not allowed to enter the organization. So, it all was really a great learning experience. The teams were provided with a prescribed format of how the Survey was to be conducted and what questions were to be asked. So, it made there task easy. After reaching the RIICO area the teams were dropped at there destined company locations one by one.

Instructions for Surveying

Now, as the teams were formed for a grand survey of about 500 major companies of RIICO it was the time to instruct them well to deal with the CEO’s or any big authority of the company. A meeting was held under the supervision of President and the Vice President. The teams were instructed to be polite with the company members may he/she be the Director, CEO, Clerk or even the Guard at the entrance gate of the company. Each team was given a permission letter by RIICO and SKIT for conducting the Survey. The members were excited about the survey and they went to the survey after the college hours.
