The Punjabi King !!!

The member of parliament but also a poet “VISHVJIT SINGH” who writes meaningful poems on the golden times of Aurangzeb and other kings taught the members some daring spirit. “Do not avoid taking risks as from every failure comes eventual success”. Failures are part and parcel of everyone’s life but accepting them in a positive way is what Mr. Singh wanted to say to our members.

Translator of Chandrakanta


Then, we met Prasoon Joshi, the famous lyricist, screen writer and advertising copywriter it added colours to our visit to JLF. He was applauded for his translation work of Chandrakanta. He raised the issue of Hindi being neglected these days and asked to respect the language.

Let's talk some business




As he has spent most of his career in the investment business it explains the part of him being so much experienced. The students had the news that LIAQUAT AHAMED author of “lord of finance” will be coming in the festival so they were willing to meet him. It was sort of expected what will happen in conversation with him, the students in the end got tired pinning down things as there was a long list. There is a small conclusion of what he said “Entrepreneurship always brings out the best in an individual, the passion, drive and spirit is unparalleled, every ambitious person should develop a streak of entrepreneurship in themselves to become a better professional and enhance their personal wealth”.

So good luck !! ” .The famous writer of India Unbound GURCHARAN DAS, a person who took early retirement from his work because he had a true desire for writing inspired the audience by saying these impressive lines. The members were then feeling proud, full of energy and power, as their queue of inspiration was added with one more personality.

AFGANISTHAN : Stop using it as a Laboratory

A very knowledgeable discussion was held on 'AfPak' between Ahmed Rashid, Atiq Rahimi, Jayant Prasad, Jon Lee Anderson,Rory Stewart, William Dalrymple in conversation with Barkha Dutt. Inspite of unparalleled success, they all have their heads fixed firmly on their shoulders. E-members learnt that this is the key attribute of an entrepreneur. Barkha Dutt ended the discussion by urging every government to stop using Afghanistan as a laboratory to experiment their strategies against terrorism

GLOBAL VIEW ON ENTREPRENEURS




In the JLF held from 21st January to 25th January E-members of TOPAZ interacted with sundry people conversant about entrepreneurship especially people from different countries. Various personalities like Miss Catherine from U.K., Mr. Dieun Yang from China, Mrs. Salma Ahmed from Pakistan etc. gave us the suggestions to become an entrepreneur. They suggested that don't climb the bandwagon i.e. don't follow or copy the ideas that are already prevailing in the market , create your own ideas, be innovative.You should charter your own course rather than follow a beaten path and it is not necessary that well beaten path always make the right road. So creative, new unbeaten ideas are the need of the hour of the world for the successful entrepreneur.

Jaipur Literature Festival 2011

The Jaipur's most renowned festival for which almost every learned person tries to snatch out some time from his busy schedule i.e. Jaipur Literature Festival marked the beginning of pre E - week campaigning for TOPAZ. It is a festival which is beyond the boundaries that are drawn on the map of the world as people irrespective of their origin involves in it. TOPAZ members decided to attend the sessions of the festival to get new ideas from great people who have come from various parts of the world.

Meeting 2 for pre - E - Week campaigning

The meeting started with the discussion of Jaipur Literature Festival, pre-week campaignin.List of Jaipur schools was made and atleast 25 schools were selected among them to contact for the pre-E-week campaigning comprising of a fifty-rupee venture event. Posters for different sessions and events were designed.

Meeting 1 for pre E - Week campaigning

The work for the upcoming E-Week started today with a brief discussion on poster making (including poster on signature campaigning, hand stamp ,promotional and theme) was done followed by the sketching of signature campaigning . All the pre-E-week campaigning was discussed and plans for it were made. The project work was discussed among the members and students were made in charge of that. All students were supposed to write a brief report on daily activities being carried out in the cell.The session ended with a handfull of work on poster making and with a learning to work in a team and generate new ideas.

Meeting in the Boys Hostel over a cup of coffee

A team of fifteen E-members met in room no. 414, boys hostel on 17th Jan over a cup of coffee. They started their discussion with the samples of the last year’s work done. Soon, their meeting was halted because of the attendance in charge who didn’t allowed a group of students in one room at 9:00pm. Oh! This rule of SKIT hostel…never let guys to enjoy- hahaha !!!. Well, The meeting was dispersed for that moment but was later continued which finally concluded by assigning tasks to each other.
